Visit official websiteChoose Carnage for an undecided first character built around ranged gunplay and mixed PvE, Viper for spellcasting against groups, or Grim Reaper for a lasting preference for melee assassination. In VAMPIR Grim Reaper vs Viper vs Carnage, those are recommendations about the combat you want to play, rather than a verified ranking of damage or running costs. Before changing an existing character, check which conversion rules your current version actually offers.
Start with the combat style you want
Carnage uses guns and is described as a ranged vampire sniper with quick attacks, while Viper is a sorcerer whose magic orb supports a theme of spells and curses. Grim Reaper carries a shadow scythe and has a melee assassination identity, making close combat central to its description. These identities establish the basic choice between firearms, spellcasting, and a scythe; they do not establish a winner for every activity.
The official international class page also lists Akasha and Bloodstained, so this comparison covers a selection of the available classes rather than the entire roster. Within this selection, MMOExp's recommendations combine class identities, player impressions, and historical results instead of controlled international-version tests. Use that distinction when choosing: a recommendation can help match your preferences without proving which class will outperform another on your character.
Carnage suits an undecided ranged PvE player
MMOExp recommends Carnage as a starting choice for an undecided free player who wants to move between story targets, ordinary farming, and bosses. The stated reason is its mixed PvE toolkit and ranged firearm combat, which makes the recommendation most relevant when you have no strong preference for a caster. It does not establish higher damage, cheaper equipment, or a universally easier progression path.
Carnage also deserves consideration if you already play Viper and find the spellcasting routine itself frustrating, while gunplay sounds more appealing. That is a reason to reconsider your preferred combat style, but it is not a demonstrated solution to resource consumption. Carnage discussions also involve MP adjustments, so choosing a gun user should not be treated as a promise that automatic hunting will need less attention.
Viper fits spellcasting and repeated group attacks
Viper's description centers on a vampire sorcerer using ancient sorcery to control the battlefield, with an orb, magic, and curses defining its identity. MMOExp recommends considering it when spellcasting and repeatedly attacking groups are the activities you want to build around. That makes Viper a preference-based choice for group-focused play, without establishing that it has the fastest farming or best resource efficiency.
A launch-period assessment flags substantial MP use from Viper's automatic skills, and the recommendation includes accepting possible adjustments to skill frequency. However, the comparison contains no matched one-hour MP or potion-consumption test that would let you rank Viper against Carnage for upkeep. Treat recurring MP depletion as a specific setting to investigate rather than assuming either class has a verified maintenance advantage.
Grim Reaper rewards a preference for melee assassination
Grim Reaper is the most direct fit here if the shadow scythe and melee assassination theme are what you want to keep playing. A prelaunch introduction described stealth, short-distance teleportation, and melee attacks intended to catch opponents off guard. Those details explain its approach to reaching targets, but they should not be read as confirmation of current skill effects, cooldowns, or a PvP advantage.
For a free player, MMOExp frames Grim Reaper as a commitment to that playstyle, with ordinary progression still bringing the character close to enemies. An earlier-version player reported harder progression with Grim Reaper and Akasha on equipment they considered comparable to their other characters. That account lacks controlled builds and a confirmed global equipment threshold, so it cannot establish that Grim Reaper inevitably stalls or is unsuitable for free players.
What rankings and clear times actually show
GameMeca's anniversary coverage discussed Narichanye Valley, a solo PvE mode built around monster waves, bosses, and climbing stages. In the Korean Season 3 records it covered, Carnage alone had all of its top five ranked characters clear stage 30 in under three minutes. This is evidence about a particular competitive PvE record set, with no equal-equipment comparison or basis for extending the result to every PvE activity and PvP.
The same coverage reported AbigailEndEnd's best stage 30 time as 2 minutes, 12.4 seconds on Viper and 1 minute, 46.9 seconds after moving to Carnage. An accompanying discussion explicitly cautioned that equipment and progression could have changed between those attempts. The faster record therefore documents that player's results across a switch, without isolating the class as the cause of the time difference.
The historical Season 3 figures also show 26 Viper characters reaching stage 30, while Grim Reaper had fewer than five recorded clears. Without participation totals, those counts cannot supply a clear rate or prove that a class is unusable. Separately, October 23, 2026 tracking placed Viper first in popularity among ranked characters and Carnage second at 24.4%, with Grim Reaper least represented. Those established ranked populations, including a separately discussed legacy Asian global region, should not be presented as the new international server's entire population or as combat win rates.
Adjust automatic skills before deciding to switch
If MP repeatedly runs out, first inspect which learned skills are enabled for automatic use instead of assuming the class choice was wrong. MMOExp relays a Netmarble guide describing an Active Skill gear button for ordering automatic skills and a usage cycle for individual skills. Match those controls to your current client before following the instructions, since this description comes through a secondary guide.
Try lengthening an expensive skill's cycle or removing it from automatic use, changing a single setting before observing the same hunting area again. For group farming, the suggested check is whether area attacks consistently hit several enemies; against isolated targets, examine whether those casts justify their cost. These checks help investigate an identifiable setup issue, while disliking the underlying gunplay, casting, or melee style is a separate reason to reconsider your class.
Check conversion rules before committing resources
A Korean class-change guide summarized by Vampir Guide says conversion takes place in town and can cover a form, up to three weapons, and all owned skills. It also says extra charges can depend on the selections made during conversion. Treat this as a description of Korean rules, and verify availability, eligible conversions, and costs in your current international client before planning around it.
Creating another character and converting an existing class are different actions, and neither should be assumed to move all your progression for free. Before claiming or spending valuable rewards, check the receiving character together with the item's binding, sharing, and use restrictions. Make the commitment after confirming both the combat style you want and the applicable transfer rules, rather than treating a recommendation or an older ranking as a guarantee.
