Carnage is the best starting recommendation for mixed PvE in VAMPIR if you want a ranged first main, while Viper suits players who prefer casting against groups. That choice reflects their reported toolkits and playstyles rather than a measured Global damage ranking. Bloodstained is an alternative for defensive melee, while Akasha and Grim Reaper deserve consideration if their combat styles appeal to you.

Choose Carnage for a mixed PvE main

Carnage fights at range with firearms powered by blessed blood, making it the natural starting point if you already prefer a gunner. MMOExp recommends it for an undecided free-to-play beginner whose routine will mix quests, monster farming and bosses. The recommendation rests on having useful options across those activities, so choose it for that flexibility without assuming it also has the cheapest equipment or the highest damage.

Player impressions describe Carnage as useful against both groups and individual enemies, which supports its place as a general-purpose PvE candidate. Keeping your distance still matters, because enemies closing the gap can leave the class vulnerable. For bosses, its ranged toolkit offers positioning choices, but the outcome depends on skills, equipment and the encounter. That combination supports trying Carnage without declaring it a better boss damage dealer than Viper.

Choose Viper when group farming is your priority

Viper channels ancient magic, curses and poison through an orb, so it is the clearer match if you want a caster. Mobi.gg highlights its area attacks and summoning mechanics for clearing groups of monsters, while MMOExp also recommends it to players focused on group encounters. Those descriptions make Viper a strong conditional farming choice when your preference is casting against crowds, without establishing a universal Global clear-speed winner.

Area damage is attractive when attacks repeatedly connect with several enemies, but a strong opening does not tell you whether the rotation can keep going. Reports identify MP consumption as a concern, particularly when repeated resource exhaustion interrupts that opening pace. Viper is also described as vulnerable in melee, so keeping enemies at a distance remains part of the choice. Choose it with both resource stability and spacing in mind, rather than treating crowd damage as a guarantee of comfortable survival.

Consider the melee alternatives by playstyle

The official English class overview lists Akasha, Carnage, Bloodstained, Viper and Grim Reaper, so the decision extends beyond the ranged pair. Bloodstained fits players who prefer defensive melee and value surviving difficult encounters over maximizing routine clear speed. Player impressions describe more comfortable survival and slower farming than Carnage, with movement into melee range and finishing ordinary enemies as practical considerations. That is a reported tradeoff, without a measured speed gap attached to it.

Bloodstained's defensive identity does not establish a traditional dungeon tank role built around taunting enemies. Pick it because you want close combat and the reported survival comfort, without planning around a guaranteed place as every group's required tank. Akasha offers a different identity: bladed tonfas, pursuit, attack-power stealing and self-cleansing, including removing debuffs while stunned according to the description relayed by MMOExp.

Claims that free-to-play players inevitably get stuck on Grim Reaper or Akasha go further than the player account can support. The warning comes from an earlier version, and its author judged their own equipment comparable across characters without providing controlled builds or a confirmed Global equipment threshold. They found progression harder with these two classes, so allow for possible friction if you choose them. Grim Reaper still offers a distinct reason to consider it: a shadow scythe, with mobility and stealth emphasized in player descriptions.

Check automatic skills before judging farming performance

MP management matters for Carnage as well as Viper, and neither has a verified advantage in upkeep over a comparable farming session. Before deciding that your class is the problem, inspect which learned skills are enabled for automatic use. MMOExp's account of Netmarble's guide points to an Active Skill gear button for setting order and a usage cycle for individual skills. Match those controls to your current client before making adjustments, since that description is relayed through a guide.

Use your farming session to diagnose your own character, rather than to rank classes with supposedly equal builds. Track visible progress alongside the MP you start and finish with, interruptions, and any consumables you use; those observations help show whether the current setup has a resource problem. Keep the area and session duration consistent when you compare settings, and isolate each adjustment so you can see what changed. When MP keeps running out, a useful adjustment to test is reducing how often an expensive skill activates automatically, either by extending its cycle or disabling automatic use for that skill.

Read rankings in their original context

Historical PvE results give Carnage a record worth considering, while also showing successful characters from the other classes. An August 13 report of Narichanye Valley Season 3 listed five Carnage, two Viper, two Akasha and one Grim Reaper in the stage-30 top ten, with Bloodstained clearing outside that group. That Korean-service event is a specific historical result, so it cannot establish equal-budget efficiency or guarantee the same balance in Western Global.

Popularity answers a different question from farming performance: the October 23, 2026 Meca Ranking report placed Viper first and Carnage second among its tracked ranked characters. That established population and its legacy global category predate the new Western launch, limiting what they tell you about a fresh character there. Community tier lists also identify themselves as community evaluations and caution that Global balance may differ. Use those rankings as context alongside class identity and your preferred activities, without treating character distribution as a measurement of monster-clearing speed.

Decide whether to adjust your setup or change class

If a quest boss blocks progress, first distinguish dying before the fight ends from staying alive but dealing insufficient damage. Review equipment and learned skills around the problem you can observe, rather than assuming a different class will fix it. Reconsider your class when the activity itself clashes with the playstyle you want, such as preferring caster group combat over your current routine. That keeps the choice tied to how you want to play without promising that switching removes a progression obstacle.

Before committing valuable rewards, check their binding and sharing rules, because creating another character and converting an existing class are separate decisions. The launch information reviewed by LagoFast did not confirm a Global class-change option, its timing or its cost; that limited review does not establish whether the current client offers one. Check current Global information before planning a conversion, and avoid applying Korean event schedules or rules to Western Global. Likewise, do not assume your items or progress will transfer for free when choosing how to move to another class.
